The Super Eagles camp has received a major boost with the arrival of five players ahead of their crucial World Cup qualifier against South Africa on Friday.
Defenders Semi Ajayi, Bright Osayi-Samuel, and Calvin Bassey, midfielder Frank Onyeka, and forward Paul Onuachu all joined the camp on Tuesday, bringing the total number of players to 20.
These arrivals are particularly welcome news for the Nigerian team, who are already facing a number of injury concerns. Key players Victor Osimhen, William Troost-Ekong, Zaidu Sanusi, Ola Aina, and Moses Simon will all be unavailable for the crucial match.
However, the arrival of the additional players strengthens the Super Eagles’ squad and provides Coach Finidi George with more options as they prepare to face Bafana Bafana at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium on Friday evening.
The match kicks off at 8pm Nigerian time, and the Super Eagles will be hoping to secure a positive result before traveling to Abidjan to face Benin Republic three days later.
