Michael Owen: Liverpool legend names Ghanaian as Mohammed Salah’s replacement

Liverpool legend Michael Owen believes that Antoine Semenyo could be the ideal replacement for Mohamed Salah if the Egyptian forward departs Anfield.

Owen’s remarks followed Semenyo’s goal in AFC Bournemouth’s 2-2 draw with Chelsea, which further underlined his impressive performances this season.

The former Liverpool striker sees the 24-year-old Ghanaian as a strong contender to strengthen Liverpool’s attack in the event of Salah’s departure.

“Semenyo is a brilliant player,” Owen said on Premier League Productions. “He scores goals, and while we don’t know if Mohamed Salah will stay or leave, if he does leave, Semenyo should be his replacement at Liverpool.”
