Greek-Nigerian Giannis Antetokounmpo was powerless and couldn’t ignite a win as his side fell to Boston Celtics in the nervy NBA Christmas feud encounter but they still remain second on the Eastern Conference Group position.
Jason Tatum took the stage and posted his fifth straight 30-point game leading Boston Celtics with a 41 en route to a 139-118 Sunday night Christmas day win over the visiting Milwaukee Bucks.
Tatum and Jaylen Brown (29 points) combined for 70 points in a game for the eighth time in their careers. Tatum added seven rebounds, five assists and three steals as Boston won back-to-back games.
Meanwhile, Giannis Antetokounmpo had a team-high 27 points, while Jrue Holiday finished with 23, Brook Lopez scored 16 and Massachusetts native Pat Connaughton added 15 on four 3-pointers in Milwaukee’s third straight loss.
“We lost the game, we can work on it to be better and not dwell on it, go back to put in on the table and improve by trying to be effective against the opponents by figuring out thier switch,” Giannis said in the pressers after the game.
The loss means that they are now second fiddle to Boston Celtics in the Eastern Conference Group.
