NFF begins search for new U20 coach as Bosso steps up to U23 role

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has commenced the search for a new coach for the U20 team, following the promotion of Ladan Bosso to the U23 team. Bosso, who led the U20 team to the quarterfinals of the last World Cup, has been at the helm since 2020 and will now take on a new challenge with the U23 team.

The NFF’s decision to promote Bosso is seen as a strategic move to address the team’s failure to qualify for the last two Olympic Games. The U23 team, also known as the Dream Team, has a rich history of success at the Olympics, having won gold, silver, and bronze medals in the past. The team is considered a crucial stage of development for prospective players of the Super Eagles, and Bosso is seen as the coach who can end the wait and restore the team’s glory.

Bosso’s appointment to the U23 team will also afford him the opportunity to graduate some of the players who played for him at the U20 level to the next stage. The NFF has already informed him of the situation, and the position will be declared vacant for interested coaches to apply.

The search for a new coach is expected to be a thorough one, with the NFF considering both local and international candidates.

Bosso’s promotion to the U23 team is a testament to his success with the U20 team, and his ability to develop young players. His experience and expertise will be invaluable to the U23 team, and he is expected to make an immediate impact.

The NFF’s decision to promote Bosso and search for a new U20 coach is a positive one, and demonstrates the federation’s commitment to developing young players and restoring the country’s football glory. With Bosso at the helm of the U23 team, and a new coach to be appointed for the U20 team, Nigerian football fans can expect exciting times ahead.
