Super Eagles of Nigeria defeated Mozambique 3-2 to win their first International Friendly game since March 2019.
Goals from Terem Moffi , Frank Onyeka and Moses Simon made it four wins from five games for the Eagles against Mozambique with one fixture ending in a draw.
Before the game, the last time the Super Eagles recorded an international friendly win was in March 2019 when they beat Egypt 1-0 in Asaba, Delta State.
Last Friday, the Eagles conceded a late goal to settle for a 2-2 draw with Saudi Arabia at the Estadio Municipal de Portimao, Portugal .
Mozambique took a shock lead in the 6th minute off Geny Catamo who slotted the ball past Francis Uzoho after connecting with a cross from the right wing.
Terem Moffi made it 1-1 in the 18th minute as he pounced on a rebound to draw the Super Eagles level.
In the 29th minute , Nigeria went 2-1 up courtesy of a first International goal by Brentford FC midfielder Frank Onyeka who fired home from the edge of the Mozambique penalty area.
Moses Simon made it 3-1 when he slotted home a stoppage time penalty to conclude an eventful half which left the Mambas with ten men following a red card to Edmilson Dove for a rash challenge on Joe Aribo.
Despite playing with a numerical disadvantage, Mozambique bagged the only goal of the second half, a free kick by Faisal Bangal which beat Francis Uzoho of Nigeria.
In-form Bayer Leverkusen striker, Victor Boniface had a goal ruled out for offside as it finished Nigeria 3-2 Mozambique.
