Nigeria’s Solomon Udo makes full Armenia debut in 1-2 victory

Nigerian-born midfielder Solomon Udo made his full international debut for Armenia in the UEFA Nations League 1-2 away victory at Georgia.

Combative at the middle of the park. Never found wanting in his position. Mentally stable with precision. Solomon Ime Udo was in a class of his own as he made his full debut for Armenia in a win over Georgia.

Solomon Udo reciprocated the trust vested on him by coach Joaquin Caparros as he displayed a game of distinct with much prospect and ambition as Armenia beat George on their own turf.

The Ararat Yereven midfielder was paired alongside Grigoryan in the holding midfield role and the 25-year old showed a lot of zeal in his game with much energy coupled with realistic hope going forward.

Udo controlled proceedings at the middle of the park and made work easy for the Centre-backs as he held up the midfield line to ease pressure on his defenders.

Gevorg Ghazaryan 32, gave Armenia the lead in the 33rd minutes, but was cancelled out by Vako from the spot.

The Collective boys pushed for an away victory, knowing a draw will further kill their prospect of qualifying from the group.

Caparros and his men found the eventual winner, thanks to an 88th minute strike from Adamyan.

Udo was replaced in the 77th minute and was found almost guiltless in his entire duration as he walked out of the pitch with good conscience having performed to his best.

Armenia are now second on the log with eight points, one point behind leaders North Macedonia who they play on Friday, and a win will help them qualify as group winners.
