Majin Mohammed has expressed concern over Niger Tornadoes’ relegation prospects following their 1-0 loss to Heartland FC.
Niger Tornadoes’ hopes of securing safety suffered a setback as they succumbed to a narrow defeat at the Dan Anyiam Stadium in a crucial Matchday 37 clash. Chukwudi Esobe’s header in the 18th minute proved decisive, condemning Tornadoes to their first loss in five games.
Despite their efforts to find an equalizer, Heartland’s resolute defense, backed by goalkeeper Chisom Chiaha’s impressive performance, held firm until the final whistle.

Reflecting on the match, coach Majin remarked, “We had a very good first half. We had our chances but we couldn’t convert them and then they had only one chance and converted it. We are not safe yet. Nobody is safe yet from 11th downward.”
With the result leaving Niger Tornadoes in a precarious position, Majin emphasized the importance of their upcoming fixture against Sunshine Stars in Kaduna. “It’s a must-win match for us. We will go back home and see what we can do in the last game. We must get those three points,” he asserted.
Niger Tornadoes will now focus on preparations for their crucial final game, where their survival in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) will be on the line against Sunshine Stars.
