Rivers United playmaker Augustine Okejepha has joined Simba SC on a permanent deal.

The 20-year-old signed a deal worth a whopping four hundred million Naira to complete his transfer from the Nigeria Premier Football League club.

Okejepha had a fine season with Rivers United having represented them in the domestic league and in the CAF Confederations competition where he started two games, scoring once for the Port Harcourt-based side.

A deal from South African top club Orlando Pirates reportedly did not materialise after it was purportedly tabled late.

The bid was said to be in the region of two hundred thousand U.S. dollars, seventy thousand dollars short of what Simba had tabled.

The player had however already set his heart to join the Tanzanian side before the Pirates deal arrived and has completed all formalities to become a Simba player.

His monthly wage is believed to be around Six Thousand Dollars which is higher than what he earned at Rivers United.

The defensive midfielder previously played for Warri Wolves and Kano Pillars and will play his trade outside the shores of Nigeria for the first time.
