NPFL Transfer: Tochukwu Michael joins Plateau United

Plateau United has completed the signing of midfielder Tochukwu Michael on a free transfer till the end of the 2022/2023 season. 

The central midfielder was impressive for Nasarawa United during the 2021/2022 Nigeria Professional Football League, NPFL, season, where he finished with 11 goals and 5 assists for the Solid Miners in 34 league appearances.

However, he will now be playing for Plateau United next season after signing a one-year deal with the Fidelis IIechukwu led side on Tuesday following the expiration of his contract with Nasarawa United at the end of last season.

Tochukwu ended last season as one of the highest scoring midfielders in the league and was targeted in the transfer window by the likes of Kwara United, Rangers International and Enyimba International.

IIechukwu will be expecting Tochukwu Micheal to hit the ground running for Plateau United this season as they aim to be one of the contenders for the league title next season alongside defending champions Rivers United, Enyimba Int’l, Akwa United, Kwara united, Remo Stars and Rangers Int’l. 

The midfielder will be expecting to play some minutes for his new club when they play host to Tunisian giants Espérance de Tunis in the CAF Champions League second  preliminary rounds at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja on Saturday, October 9, 2022.
