NPFL: Yemi Olanrewaju pleased with Enyimba’s 2-1 victory over Lobi Stars

Enyimba head coach Yemi Olanrewaju praised his team’s resilience after their hard-fought 2-1 win over Lobi Stars in the rescheduled Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) encounter.

The victory marked a crucial three points for the nine-time champions.

Ufere Chinedu opened the scoring on his home debut in the 13th minute with a stunning strike.

Captain Eze Ekwutoziam doubled the lead from the penalty spot just three minutes later. Lobi Stars’ Waheed Adebayo pulled one back with a 37th-minute volley.

Olanrewaju expressed satisfaction with the win, emphasizing the importance of maximum points at home. “We’re happy to get the three points; that’s what matters. The league is a marathon, and every game counts.”

Enyimba now shifts focus to Sunday’s clash with Finidi George’s Rivers United at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium in Port Harcourt.
