The Nigeria Women Football League, NWFL, has summoned Clubs to register for the 2020/2021 league and Nationwide Leagues season.
The guidelines for registration of Clubs for both leagues were stipulated in a letter signed by NWFL Chief Operating Officer, COO, Mrs. Faith Ben-Anuge on October 23, 2020.
“We write to inform you of the commencement of 2020/2021 League Season and to request you to indicate your interest to participate in the 2020/2021 Nigeria Women Pro/Amateur League Season by registration.
“Kindly note that every Club that will participate in the 2020/2021 season will benefit in the NFF/FIFA Football Restart Fund.” The letter reads.
The requirements for registration according to the letter include payment of N300,000 for Pro-League Championship registration fee, N100,000 for Amateur (Nationwide) League registration fee, signing of enclosed form statement of guarantee for participation for the upcoming season, and sending slip of payment of registration as well as the Club account details for remittance of Restart Fund.
The date for the kick-off of the Women’s League is expected to be announced during the next NWFL Congress.
Royal Queens and Police Machine were promoted to the NWFL Premiership (top-flight) in 2019 from the NWFL Pro-League Championship. Kwara Ladies and Ubakala Queens on the other hand gained promotion to the Pro-League Championship from the Amateur/Nationwide League ahead of the 2020-2021 season.
