NWFL – The Imo State Commissioner for Youth & Sports Development, Hon. Emeka Okoronkwo has pleaded with the state’s mainstream women football team, Heartland Queens FC to gift him a befitting new Year Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership victory against multiple champions, Rivers Angels.
The Owerri landladies will be engaging the Garden City side in crucial three-point titanic NWFL Premiership matchday 5 clash on Wednesday, January 04, 2023 at the mainbowl of Dan Anyiam Stadium in Owerri.
Hon. Okoronkwo whose charge came to the team on Monday in his first official meeting with the Premiership side said the epic encounter must be approached as a-must-win, deserved and befitting New Year gift.
“You must win for me, for the sports loving governor and the entire good people of the state.
“I need the victory as a befitting New Year gift,” he demanded.
“Victory on Wednesday will go a long to unlock doors of further attentions from the government.”
“Go ahead to give the entire state the much needed victory and I know you are capable and will surely wrap the matchday action with a resounding and deserving victory,” said the urbane administrator.
Hon. Okoronkwo further charged the players to demonstrate all round professionalism in all their doings.
“I ask you to focus on your career and avoid anything that will become a distraction.
“You are not supposed to allign with any interest except the one that will enhance your potentials,” said Hon. Okoronkwo.
Hon. Emeka Okoronkwo has the supports in the meeting of the Director of Sports, Ferdinand Emeana, Imo State FA vice chairman, Barrister Ifeanyi Dike and other Heartland Queens’ think tank committee members.
