Oparanozie scores third goal in two days for Dijon

Super Falcons striker Desire Oparanozie was again on target for new club Dijon in a 2-2 draw with Reims, after scoring twice on Saturday.

In preparations for the new season, Dijon came from two goals down to snatch a dramatic draw at Phalsbourg.

Stade de Reims had a 2-0 lead at half-time before Dijon was able to muster a fightback in the second half thanks to the first goal from Rose Lavaud.

Oparanozie equalised for Dijon in the last seconds of the game to salvage a 2-2 draw for her club.

Dijon’s Manager, Yannick Chandioux www.dfco.fr says Reims was a better opposition than Standard Liege.

“Reims offered better opposition than the day before, it was more difficult. It’s good to have come back to score. We conceded and got quite a few chances. We continue to move forward, I am very satisfied with these two days in Phalsbourg.”

After scoring against Standard Liege on Saturday, Oparanozie has now scored three goals in three pre-season matches for Dijon since joining the French side from Guingamp.

Oparanozie scored both goals for Dijon to hand them a morale booster win ahead of the 2020/21 French Women Football League.

The Nigeria international opened the scoring on 23rd minutes, beating her marker to fire beyond the visitor’s goalkeeper.

She grabbed her second of the day on the stroke of halftime, beating the keeper after being put through on goal.

The former Super Falcons captain lasted 84 minutes before being replaced by Ines Barrier.

The 26-year-old who made her debut in Dijon’s 2-1 friendly win over Swiss outfit Servette Chenois has now played three preseason games for her club since her arrival.
