Super Eagles forward, Victor Osimhen says he will gladly welcome Odion Ighalo back to the national team amid reports that the latter is considering a return to international football.
The Manchester United forward recently stated that he is considering a return to the Super Eagles and Osimhen has no qualms with his planned comeback.
“He is always welcome, he contributed a lot for the national team and even at the AFCON 2019, whether I am playing or I’m on the bench, watching him from the side will also help me learn a lot from him. I have no problem with it at all,” Osimhen told Ojbsport.
“Ighalo is a very good forward and inspirational player, not just for Nigeria but also for the footballing world. I draw some inspiration from him.”
The 30-year-old was top scorer at the AFCON 2019 with five goals, with the West Africans finishing in third position.
Ighalo retired from the Super Eagles after the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt, he scored 18 goals in 35 games for the Super Eagles.
