Super Eagles and Lille forward Victor Osimhen has parted ways with his agent over the representative’s selfishness over his proposed move to Napoli.

The 21-year-old Nigeria international who has been in the news lately had a disagreement with his old agents (Jean-Gerard Benoit Czajika/Didier Frenay) and has now entrusted himself to a new agent under the direction of Lille President Gerard Lopez.

According to a reliable source, the agent had put personal interest before anything else in his dealings with Napoli. This has been the major reason behind the stalled deal between Victor Osimhen and Napoli.

Osimhen had arrived Naples few weeks ago to sign a deal rumoured to be within the region of €70m.

Deadlock in the proposed switch to the Italian club and the perceived lack of trust made Osimhen align with a new agent.

His new agent is Willam D’avilla who currently manages Super Eagles players like Emmanuel Dennis (Club Brugge), Moses Simon(Nantes), Samuel Kalu (Bordeaux) among others was recommended by Lille president Lopez.

A very experienced football agent, D’avilla was involved in the transfer of Osimhen from Sporting Charleroi to Lille last summer.

This will no doubt open a new chapter in the intriguing twist to the proposed transfer of one of Nigeria’s hottest football exports.

Osimhen will become Nigeria’s most expensive footballer of all time if the proposed €70m pulls through and he will become the second most expensive African footballer behind Arsenal’s Nicolas Pepe (£72 million) and Manchester City’s Riyad Mahrez (£60 million).

Former Arsenal man Alex Iwobi holds the record transfer fee of any Nigerian player following his move to Everton last summer which reportedly cost the Toffees £40 million.
