Former Super Eagles Captain Joseph Yobo has publicly encouraged Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen to make the move to English Premier League giants Manchester United.
Yobo, a former Everton defender, believes Manchester United would be the ideal destination for the prolific forward, offering a chance for both the player and the club to benefit significantly.
“For me, it’s a no-brainer. Victor and Manchester United are a perfect fit, and there’s no doubt he’d thrive there if they signed him,” Yobo shared in an interview with Kick Off Nigeria.
“Even though they are struggling during this transition, Manchester United remains one of the top three biggest clubs in the world. That won’t change anytime soon. If you ask me, I’ll be honest: Victor should take on the offer if it’s presented.”
Why Manchester United Needs Osimhen
Manchester United’s struggles in front of goal this season have been evident, with just 23 goals scored in 23 Premier League matches—a far cry from their usual attacking standards. Yobo pointed out that Osimhen’s arrival could transform their attacking fortunes.
“If he walks into that team, everything changes, especially with how they score goals,” Yobo explained. “He is gifted with pace and power, but also with finishing. He’s one of the best finishers in Europe and has proven that over successive seasons.”
Osimhen has been in scintillating form this season, netting 13 goals and providing four assists in 16 appearances for Galatasaray across the Turkish League and UEFA Europa League.

Yobo also praised Manchester United’s decision to appoint Ruben Amorim as their head coach, describing the Portuguese manager as “one of the best of his generation.”
“Their project is exciting with a new coach in Amorim,” Yobo said. “If Amorim trusts Victor to be one of the leaders of this project, which is still under transition, then yes, I think he shouldn’t think twice—he should take it up.”

At 26 years old, Osimhen has garnered significant attention from other Premier League clubs, including Liverpool and Chelsea, both of whom are actively searching for a reliable striker in the January transfer window.
