Nigeria National League, NNL, new boys, FC ONE Rocket will officially be unveiled and presented to the world on Friday, November 6, 2020, ahead of the upcoming football league season.
Proprietor of the club, Rt. Hon. Otuekong Nse Essien, who is representing ONNA State Constituency at the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, will do the official presentation and unveiling of the club to the public.
Rt. Hon. Nse Essien is the Chairman, House Committee on Youth, Sports and Security, a grassroot mobilizer, and has shown great love and passion for football development in the state.
The management of the club is inviting members of the public to the event which will take place at Emerald Event Center, Edet Akpan Avenue, Uyo, by 6pm.
The event will also feature the presentation of Carabana Football Academy, a team that will serve as a feeder to FC ONE Rocket and is expected to groom young footballers who will eventually play for the main team.
Those expected at the event include the Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State, His Excellency, Mr Udom Emmanuel, who will serve as the Special Guest of Honour; Deputy Governor, Mr Moses Ekpo (Guest of Honour); Speaker of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Aniekan Bassey (Guest of Honour); Senator representing Uyo Senatorial District, Senator Bassey Albert Akpan (Chairman of the occasion); while the Honourable Commissioner, Ministry of Youth and Sports, Sir Monday Uko will serve as the Chief Host.
In July 2020, FC ONE Rocket secured a slot to play in the NNL after completing a swap deal with Lagos-base team Collins Edwin Sports Club.
The Rockets will become the third team from Akwa Ibom State to play in the NNL next season, joining Vandrezzer FC and Ibom Youths FC.
With the addition of One Rocket FC to the fray, football fans in Akwa Ibom will hope at least one of the three clubs will make it to the NPFL by the end of next season, to complement Akwa United and Dakkada FC.
