Pelicans trade guard Jrue Holiday to Milwaukee Bucks

The New Orleans Pelicans have agreed to trade point guard Jrue Holiday to the Milwaukee Bucks in exchange for Eric Bledsoe and George Hill.

The Bucks is also sending three first-round picks and two future drafts pick swaps.

Earlier in November, the Athletic NBA reported that the Pelicans were open to trading Holiday, who had been with the team since 2013, as they navigate a rebuild through their younger players.

Holiday, who has been described as one of the best defenders at his position in the league, the one-time All-Star should bolster Milwaukee’s roster as it gears up for another title run.

Jrue Holiday, coming off a 2019-2020 campaign where he averaged 19.1 points 6.7 assists, and 4.8 rebounds per game with the Pelicans.

The Bucks needed to make a move to get over the hump and attempt to convince back-to-back NBA MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo to sign his supermax extension this offseason.
