PHC League 2020: Elekahia United thrashes Dumo United 4-1

Elekahia United thrashed Dumo United 4-1 on Friday in the ongoing PHC League at the Joseph Yobo Stadium, Port Harcourt.

Elekahia United took the lead in the 4th minute through Kingsley Benson before Smith Frank doubled the lead in the 16th minute, Dumo United pulled a goal back through Confidence John with three minutes left to play in the first half, they went into the break with a 2-1 lead.

In the second half, Elekahia United continued to press and finally made it 3-1 through Achor Boms in the 63rd minute before Benson made it 4-1 with his second goal of the game in the 75th minute with a powerful header inside the box to secure the win for his side.

The victory is Elekahia United’s third win of the tournament as they moved to the 6th position with 9 points after 5 games.

Speaking to the journalist after the game, Elekahia United head coach, Silas Chikezie praised his team performance after the win over Dumo United.

“It was a very nice game today, and I’m also happy for the victory, and the way the boys performed throughout the game was outstanding.

“We needed to win this game in other to move further in the league table and I thank God that we finally won.

Elekahia United will hope to continue with their winning run when they take on their next opponent Friends Club in the ongoing PHC League.
