Plateau United has made a significant statement of intent ahead of the 2024/25 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season by announcing the signing of 11 new players.
The Jos-based club has strengthened its squad with a mix of experienced and young players from various clubs, including Akwa United, Douanes FC, Morak FC, Lobi Stars, Sunshine Stars, and Warri Wolves.

The new signings include Chukwuebuka Anthony, Ibe Chumakpa Micheal, Saka Gafar, Chinedu Sunday, Mafeng Badung, Collins Onovughe, Igbaaka Dickson, Vincent Temitope, Sodiq Adamu, Kenneth James, and Adewale Adeyinka.
These players are expected to bring fresh talent and energy to the team, which finished fifth in the NPFL last season with 53 goals.
Coach Mbwas Mangut has expressed his concerns that the team is not fully prepared for the upcoming season, citing the need for improved fitness and coordination.
However, the new signings are expected to address these concerns and enhance the team’s performance.
The new NPFL season is set to commence on August 31, and Plateau United will be looking to make a strong start. With the addition of these new players, the team is poised to challenge for honors in the NPFL.
In other NPFL news, Kwara United has unveiled 17 new players ahead of the new season, while Enyimba has beefed up their squad with three new signings.
Sunshine Stars have adopted the Dipo Dina Stadium as their temporary home ground, and Lobi Stars have extended the contract of their player, Agagbe.
These moves demonstrate the clubs’ commitment to building strong teams for the new season, and fans can expect an exciting and competitive NPFL campaign.
