Manchester United captain Harry Maguire has reportedly been arrested this morning after allegedly attacked a police officer outside a bar in Mykonos, Greece.
Greek outlet Protothema claimed Maguire and his friends were involved in a fight with other Englishmen outside of a bar in the area.
It’s added that the United defender was handcuffed by police after the incident while the police themselves were targeted too although it’s not clear if that involved Maguire or the others in the altercation.
Footage posted on a Greek website shows Maguire earlier that night chatting with fans in the Matogiannia area of Mykonos town.
According to Mail Online, Manchester United said in a statement that the club is aware of the incident involving their captain.
“The club is aware of an alleged incident involving Harry Maguire in Mykonos last night.
“Contact has been made with Harry, and he is fully cooperating with the Greek authorities.
“At this time we will be making no further comment.”
The new Premier League season gets underway on September 12 with United looking to mount a sustained title challenge against rivals Liverpool and Manchester City.
