Head coach of Rangers International, Fidelis Ilechukwu has confirmed one key action the Nigerian champions will take to be ready for CAF Champions League football next season.
According to the NPFL winner, the club will be recruiting new players for next season’s CAF Champions League.
On Sunday, June 23, 2024, Rangers defeated Gombe United 2-1 at the New Jos Stadium in Jos, securing their position as champions of the 2023/2024 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season with a total of seventy points. This victory marked their eighth league title.
Ilechukwu dedicated this triumph to the Enugu State Government and the club’s loyal fans, expressing his gratitude for their unwavering support throughout the season.

With this victory, Rangers have earned the opportunity to represent Nigeria in the CAF Champions League next season. Their goal is to advance as far as the final match.
In a post-match interview, an elated Ilechukwu said, “This is a great day for all of us in Rangers, and we give God the glory. This victory is for the government and people of Enugu State who supported us through thick and thin until we became champions of the Nigeria Premier Football League.
“We hope to bring in a few new players to strengthen the team and effectively challenge for both domestic and continental honors next season.”
