Sabinus wins man of the match in Troost-Ekong Foundation charity match

Popular Nigerian content creator Sabinus was voted as the man of the match in the Troost Ekong Foundation Charity match at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium on Sunday.

The Charity match featured a mix of famous footballers and celebrities, including Kelechi Iheanacho, Wilfred Ndidi, Odumodublvck, Sabinus, Ebuka, Falz, Poco Lee, Joseph Yobo, Vincent Enyeama, Brown Ideye, Ahmed Musa, Alex Song, and Carl Ikeme. All took to the pitch to show their support for the lunch of the William Troost Ekong Foundation.

Sabinus was introduced into the game in the second half for Team Green. A few minutes later, the popular skit maker converted a penalty against former Super Eagles goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama to put Team Green back into the game.

The game was action-packed, with both teams showing great skill and teamwork. It ended 3-3 at full time, which led to an exciting penalty shootout, where Team Orange came out on top.

The Troost-Ekong Foundation charity match, led by Super Eagles captain William Troost-Ekong not only entertained fans but also raised funds for the causes of the organization.

Troost-Ekong was not included in head coach Finidi’s George’s 23-man squad list as he has not played a game since the 2023 AFCON after being sidelined due to an injury sustained at the 2023 AFCON tournament.

But after a long length on the sideline, the PAOK FC player has regained fitness and returned to training, he was among the goal scorers at the Charity match and played all 90 minutes.
