Super Eagles winger Samuel Chukwueze is expected to return to training with AC Milan next week after recovering from a hamstring injury sustained in late December.

Chukwueze, 25, season at AC Milan has been a mixed one, with three goals and one assist in 22 appearances. However, most of his appearances have come as a substitute, as he has struggled to break into the starting lineup ahead of Christian Pulisic.

Despite this, the Chukwueze has been linked with potential moves, including interest from Premier League side Arsenal.

Unfortunately, his hamstring injury, which occurred on December 29, put any transfer plans on hold, as no club would consider signing an injured player.

The injury was initially expected to sideline him for about a month, but his recovery is reportedly progressing well.

According to Sempre Milan, Chukwueze is on track to return to light training next week, with plans to fully rejoin the team by the end of January.

He is likely to be available for AC Milan’s Milan derby against Inter Milan on February 2 at the Giuseppe Meazza Stadium.

With new manager Sergio Conceição now in charge, Chukwueze will have a chance to impress and earn a more prominent role in the squad. If his playing time does not improve under the new coach, the 25-year-old may consider seeking a move during the summer transfer window.
