Sani Suleiman signs two-year pre-contract with Slovakia’s AS Trencin

17-year-old Akwa United forward Sani Suleiman, who recently won the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Rookie of the Season award, has reportedly signed a two-year pre-contract with Slovak champions AS Trencin.

The talented winger, who played an important role in Akwa United’s escape from relegation from the NPFL in the second half of last season, has opted for AS Trencin over top European clubs, citing the need for regular playing opportunities to develop his career.

Suleiman’s impressive performance in the NPFL, where he scored 11 goals in 19 appearances, caught the attention of European scouts. However, he has chosen to follow in the footsteps of Super Eagles wingers Moses Simon and Samuel Kalu, who also began their careers at AS Trencin.
