Sunshine Stars coach Kennedy Boboye expressed frustration over poor officiating in their goalless draw against Abia Warriors in match day three of the 2024/2025 Nigeria Premier Football League.
According to Boboye, two goals were disallowed and a penalty was not given, significantly impacting the outcome of the game.
“We’ve put the outcome behind us, focusing on our next game against Akwa United,” Boboye said. “The game was tough, but it’s puzzling how two goals were disallowed and a penalty not given.” Despite the setback, Sunshine Stars remain determined to secure a win in their upcoming match.

Meanwhile, Enyimba International has been placed in pot 3 for the Confederation Cup group stage draw.
They will be alongside ASJaaraf, CS Constantine, Bravos Do Maquils, Lunda Suliat, Orapa United, Black Bulls, and Stellenbosch.
This development sets the stage for intense competition in the group stage.
In AFCON 2025 qualifying news, the Super Eagles will host Libya on October 11 at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo. The team will then travel to Libya for their matchday four encounter on October 15.
Currently, Nigeria tops Group D with four points from two games, while Libya sits at the bottom with one point.
In other news, Kano State athletes who participated in the National Youth Games in Asaba have protested over poor camp allowances.
The athletes claimed they received significantly less than athletes from neighboring states, with some receiving N20,000 for ten days compared to N50,000 or N80,000 for athletes from other states.
Despite this disparity, the athletes secured five gold, three silver, and one bronze in the competition and urged Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf to intervene.
