Rangers manager Stephen Gerard has confirmed defender Leon Balogun and midfielder Joe Aribo will not be available for selection against Kilmarnock on Sunday.
Rangers are currently top of the Scottish Premiership with ten points, winning three of the four matches but were held to a goalless draw at Livingston last weekend.
The two Nigerians have started three of the four league matches for Rangers with 100 percent win record but missed last week’s disappointing draw against Livingston.
Speaking to the media ahead of the home fixture against Kilmarnock, Gerard confirmed Balogun and Aribo will miss the match but will be in contention next weekend against Hamilton.
“Balogun and Aribo won’t make the weekend. I think both have a good chance for the following week,” Gerard said. “McGregor is back fit after training yesterday, Defoe still won’t be seen until after the International break.”
Aribo has been a standout performer for Rangers since joining the Gers from Charlton Athletic last summer, winning both the Young Player of the Year and Goal of the Season awards.
The 24-year-old scored eight goals and provided eight assists in 45 appearances across all competitions, amid other dazzling displays.
His four goals in the Europa League propelled the Ibrox Stadium outfit to the Round of 16 of the tournament, where they were eliminated 1-0 by Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen.
This season, he opened his account with a second half strike in the 3-0 victory against St Johnstone.
While new signing Balogun has been impressive in defense helping Rangers to three clean sheets in his three league outings.
The 32-year-old joined Rangers this season from English Premier League side Brighton and Hove Albion, forming a strong defensive partnership with Connor Goldson.
