Super Eagles defender Olisah Ndah eager to make the most of national team return

We have so much ability in the team - Olisa Ndah

Super Eagles and Orlando Pirates defender, Olisah Ndah, has expressed his excitement about being recalled to the Nigerian national team after a two-year absence.

The 26-year-old defender was included in the squad for the AFCON 2025 qualifiers against Benin Republic and Rwanda, marking his return to international duty.

Ndah came off the bench in the 63rd minute during Nigeria’s 3-0 victory over Benin Republic at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo, where the Super Eagles comfortably secured the win.

Speaking after the match, the former Rivers United defender admitted that he hadn’t expected the call-up but is determined to make the most of the opportunity. “I think it’s an opportunity, I’m really excited for it, but I wasn’t expecting it at all. It’s just an opportunity given to me by the club, which I appreciate,” Ndah said in quotes revealed by Goal.

He further reflected on the team selections, expressing his satisfaction with the choices made by the coaches. “I think nothing has changed, with the selection that has been coming out they have been good. You can’t make everyone happy, you can’t invite everyone. I think there is a limited number you can invite. The selections have been wonderful, I’m just happy to be here,” he added.

The two-time MTN 8 Cup winner also shared his excitement about the upcoming season with Orlando Pirates, especially after reaching the finals of the MTN 8 tournament once again.

Ndah will be hoping to feature in the starting lineup for the Super Eagles when they face Rwanda in their next AFCON 2025 qualifying match.
