Super Eagles hopeful Ehizibue, Sarenren-Bazee in action as Cologne hold Augsburg away

Super Eagles defender, Kingsley Ehizibue was in action for FC Cologne whose winless run continued following their 1-1 away draw at Augsburg, in the German Bundesliga game on Sunday, The Athletic NG reports.

Colonge were on the verge of ending their winless streak after French striker Anthony Modeste scored on 85 minutes.

But in the 88 minutes, Philipp Max drew Augsburg level to earn his side a share of the spoils.

The Nigeria international, Ehizibue played full 90 minutes in the game which was his 27th appearances in the Bundesliga this season.

Also in action for Augsburg was Noah-Joel Sarenren-Bazee who also played for 90 minutes in his seventh league outing for Augsburg.

The draw means Cologne have now gone six straight games without a win, losing three games and drawing three.

For Augsburg, they have not recorded a win in their last three games securing two draws and one loss.

Cologne are currently in 12th position on 35 points after 30 games, while Augsburg are in 13th position on 32 points in the German Bundesliga standing.

Earlier on Sunday, former Nigeria International, Anthony Ujah bagged an assist as Union Berlin held struggling Schalke 04 to a 1-1 draw at home.

Ujah set up Robert Andrich for the game’s opening goal in the 11th minutes before Jonjoe Kenny equalised for the visitors in the 28th minutes.

With the draw, Union Berlin are currently in 14th position on 32 points and are just four points away from the relegation play-off spot.
