Super Falcons coach Randy Waldrum gets contract extension

Super Falcons coach, Randy Waldrum has been offered a two-year contract extension deal by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).

Waldrum, 65, who was appointed as the Super Falcons coach by the NFF in May 2020, qualified for the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, defeating West African rivals Ghana and Ivory Coast in the qualifying rounds.

“Waldrum has been offered a contract to continue as coach of the team, a deal that will last till after the World Cup,” an official of the NFF said.

“We are happy with the progress of the team, and happy with the coach as well because he has achieved the initial mandate given to him by the NFF, which was to qualify the team for WAFCON in Morocco.”

According to Waldrum, he hopes to build a strong squad that has the strength, stamina and technical balance to give the world’s best teams a good run for their money.

“I am happy that we have qualified for Morocco. Our next goal is to qualify for the Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand next year summer.

“I like the spirit of the players and their commitment to the cause, and it is enough incentive to effortlessly focus on our project. We will continue to work on getting young players who are good enough to compete with the old guard and pick the best team always,” said  Randy Waldrum while speaking with journalists.
