Tobi Amusan, Nigeria’s track and field star and world record holder in the 100m women’s hurdles, has been chosen as Team Nigeria’s flagbearer for the opening ceremony of the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Amusan is the first track and field athlete to hold this honor in 20 years, since Mary Onyali at the 2004 Athens Games.
The Nigerian Olympic Committee (NOC) has also named badminton star Anuoluwapo Opeyori as the General Team Captain for Nigeria in Paris.
