As the ongoing Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season unfolds, Plateau United midfielder Tochukwu Michael has expressed his desire to finish among the top three.
Plateau United won 1-0 at home against Kwara United on Sunday, with the exciting young midfield maestro playing the duration.
In an exclusive interview, the midfielder told The Athletic NG that he was happy to break into the Plateau United first team.
“I’m happy, and I thank God that I broke into the first team, and I’m thankful that I made my second appearance with Plateau United, which we won against a tough Kwara United team,” Tochukwu said.
” For now, the only thing I can say is that I will maintain a certain standard of performance and that the goals will come as I am a goal-oriented player.”
During the 2021/2022 NPFL season, Tochukwu scored 11 league goals for Nasarawa United, before joining Plateau United and believes Fidelis Ilechukwu can help him blossom.
“He has been like a father to me. Since my days with MFM FC, I’m glad to work with him again, because he is a good coach and can help me to improve more on my game. Working with him again was the main reason I joined Plateau United.”
Plateau United will travel to Ikenne on Sunday to face Remo Stars on Matchday 7 in Group A at the Remo Stars Stadium.
