Former Kwara United coach Samson Unuanel has expressed his confidence that Rivers United can cause an upset against USM Alger in the second leg of the CAF Confederation Cup quarter-finals.
After securing a 1-0 victory over the reigning Champions in the first leg at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo, Unuanel believes that Rivers United have the potential to continue their success in the competition.
In a conversation with Completesports.com, Unuanel emphasised the importance of team spirit and concentration for Rivers United to emerge victorious against USM Alger in the upcoming match.
“This is a crucial game for Rivers United, and they must be prepared to seize this opportunity, especially with USM Alger feeling the pressure of playing at home. While a one-goal lead is a positive start, football is unpredictable, and anything can happen. The players need to stay focused, avoid defensive errors, and capitalize on every scoring chance,” Unuanel remarked.
