Kano Pillars head coach Usman Abdallah has called for focus on the next game following his side’s 2-0 loss to Remo Stars on matchday three of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL). The defeat came at the Muhammad Dikko Stadium in Katsina, which serves as Kano Pillars’ adopted home ground.
After an impressive start to the 2024/2025 NPFL season, Pillars were brought down by Remo Stars, who took full advantage of their superior preparation, having been involved in the CAF Champions League earlier in the season.
Speaking after the match, Abdallah acknowledged Remo Stars’ readiness and the impact it had on the outcome. “It’s a painful defeat for us, especially at home.

Remo Stars have been well-prepared because of their continental commitments, while we are still building up,” the Kano Pillars coach said.
Despite the disappointment, Abdallah remains optimistic about the team’s prospects in the season ahead. “I am confident we will bounce back and aim for maximum points in our upcoming games,” he added.
Kano Pillars will now focus on their next fixture, a crucial away match in Southeastern Nigeria against Abia Warriors. The Sai Masu Gida will look to recover from their home defeat and continue their fight for a strong NPFL campaign this season.
