Leicester City head coach Ruud van Nistelrooy has showered praise on Wilfred Ndidi following his impressive display in their FA Cup clash against Manchester United at Old Trafford.
After missing eight weeks with a hamstring injury, Ndidi made an instant impact, captaining Leicester and playing a crucial role in their opening goal. His initial effort in the box was blocked, leading to Bobby De Cordova-Reid’s headed finish.
Despite the Foxes’ 2-1 defeat, with Joshua Zirkzee and Harry Maguire securing the win for Manchester United, Ndidi’s presence in midfield was a major highlight.

Speaking after the game, Van Nistelrooy was full of admiration for Ndidi’s leadership and control in midfield.
“You saw the way he played, the way he lifted the team—on the ball, off the ball. His performance was excellent, but more than that, his leadership stood out,” Van Nistelrooy told Leicester Mercury.

“It wasn’t just about wearing the captain’s armband; he commanded the game, organized the team, and communicated brilliantly. He and Bouba [Soumare] had a fantastic partnership in midfield.”
With their FA Cup run over, Leicester now shift focus to their next Premier League test against Arsenal.
Mikel Arteta’s side, coming off a Carabao Cup defeat to Newcastle United, will be looking to bounce back, but with Ndidi back in action, Leicester will aim to make a strong statement at home.
