PROJECT RESTART
In a recent interview session with the Chief Operating Officer of Vandrezzer Football Club, Mr. Kingsley Ogbonna, he revealed the club’s readiness for the resumption of the 2020/21 League Season.

Ogbonna notified the fans, supporters, and the general public that in compliance with the Circular received from the Management of the Nigerian National League on the condition for the resumption of footballing activities, Vandrezzer Football Club had put in place a COVID -19 guideline which would serve as the club’s internal guide for the resumption of Footballing Activities in alignment with the expectations of the Ministry of Youth and Sports and Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).

He noted that the directive for the implementation of COVID -19 protocol was in tandem with the current happenings around the world, more particularly as footballing activities and new league season have since resumed in most countries and Nigeria should not be left out.

He however pointed out that notwithstanding the desire to commence the 2020/2021 league, a huge responsibility rests on the shoulders of the Management of the League as well as the Management of Football Clubs to ensure the safety of the players and the coaching crew as they return to camp and engage in matches.

The COO cautioned that if the league was allowed to commence without supervision, there may be a surge in the number of Covid-19 cases that may warrant the possible suspension of the league due to the spread of the Virus.

He urged that anyone who suspects that he may have come in contact with the Virus should immediately isolate and seek proper medical assistance and not resort to self-medication. He condemned the attachment of stigma to people who had contracted the virus.

“In these 12 months of professional technical command, I have committed day after day to the process of building a team, introduction and affirmation of a game model and to manage a group of true warriors, loyal and character men. With a work that has always been focused on football concepts and life values, together we are achieving the results and goals set: the rank of premier league and to highlight a club which portrays much more than the game, but also a lifestyle. Surely titles will come because the club is a champion club.

“I thank the President for trusting my work, the Board for providing me with all the resources so that we can execute a beautiful work. In such a difficult time of the COVID-19 pandemic, trusting and giving me a new contract is such an honour. I also thank the group of players for their hardwork and full commitment to the ideas proposed. To all other club officials, thank you for the dedication to the course that has seen Vandrezzer FC reach modest heights even in just one year of existence.

“I start this cycle with the certainty that I will do my best always, and I’m sure we will have many joys together! Thank you everyone!”
