Vandrezzer FC will play Abia Warriors this afternoon in a preseason friendly at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium by 4pm, The Athletic NG reports.
This will be Vandrezzer FC’s first match since the lockdown as they prepare for the new Nigeria National League season.
Last month, the club announced that players were recalled to camp with Coach Rafael Everton charged by the board to resume pre-season programme.
All players tested negative to COVID-19 in the first round of tests conducted on each player. The tests were conducted at the Government approved COVID-19 test centres in line with Vandrezzer FC COVID-19 guidelines.
Brazilian midfielder, Alberico Da Silva is joined by compatriots, Luiz Henrique and Ivo Junior, both joining the club this transfer window.
Meanwhile, Abia Warriors have signed ten new players to the squad following the arrival of Coach Imama Amapakabo.
The players include: Vincent Edafe from Dakkada FC, Olorunleke Ojo from Sunshine Stars, Nzube Anaezemba from Lobi Stars, Markson Ojobo from Akwa United, Mustapha Jubreel from Mighty Jet, Dennis Kingsley from Odion Ighalo Academy, Godwin Obaje from JS Kairouan, Harrison Ibukun from Dakkada FC, Chukwuemeka Obioma from Heartland and Emmanuel Israel from A&A Academy.
The Umuahia Warlords played in two preseason tournaments, crashing out at the group stage of Governor Nyesom Wike Preseason Tournament in Port Harcourt and lost in the finals to rivals Enyimba in the Governor Okezie Ikpeazun Preseason Tournament in Aba.
This will be the first time Vandrezzer FC and Abia Warriors will be meeting.
