Bayer Leverkusen striker Victor Boniface has clarified his stance on a potential move to the Premier League, despite growing interest from top clubs in England. The Nigerian international, who has been in outstanding form this season, has reaffirmed his preference for Spanish or German football.
Boniface, who has scored three goals and provided one assist in his first four matches this season, recently netted a crucial winning goal for Leverkusen against Wolfsburg. His performances have caught the attention of major European clubs, with Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur reportedly monitoring his progress.
However, in a recent interview with SportyTV, Boniface expressed his disinterest in the English Premier League, stating, “I’ve said this before—even before I had an international passport or dreamt of coming to Europe—I don’t really like the Premier League. I prefer Spanish football or German football.”

While the 23-year-old acknowledged that he would consider offers from top Premier League teams, he emphasized his passion for playing in La Liga or continuing his career in the Bundesliga. “If you ask me to pick two countries, I really want to live and play in Germany and Spain,” Boniface reiterated.
Despite speculation linking him to the Premier League, Boniface remains focused on his current stint with Bayer Leverkusen and is open to the idea of moving to Spain’s top flight in the future. With his impressive form in Germany, it remains to be seen how long Leverkusen can hold on to the talented forward, but it’s clear that Boniface has his eyes set on a future outside of England.
