Red-hot Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen has been named Italian Serie A player of the month of January 2023.
To win the award, Napoli striker Victor Osimhen beat off competition from compatriot Ademola Lookman of Atalanta, Lazio midfielder Luis Alberto, Roma attacker Paulo Dybala and forward Lautaro Martínez of Inter Milan.
In the month under review, Osimhen scored 5 goals and provided 1 assist to help Napoli advance it’s Scuddeto title chase.
Luciano Spalleti’s men are currently 13-points clear of second placed Inter Milan at the top of the Italian Serie A standings.
His performances were deserving of the award and so the 24-year old will get the award plaque on Sunday when Napoli face struggling Cremonese.
A spectacular season it has been for Osimhen who currently leads the goal-scorers chart in the Serie A with 16 goals.
