The International Federation of Football History and Statistics – IFFHS has named legendary Nigerian goalkepeer Vincent Enyeama as the Greatest African Goalkeeper of All-time.
This is part of results of the most recent statistics put forward by IFFHS. Enyeama gathered more points than every other African goalkeeper to rate as the continents best ever.
A successful career that spaned close to 20-years had Enyeama turn-out for Enyimba International FC, Bnei Yehuda, Hapoel Tel Aviv, Maccabi Tell Aviv and Lille OSC where he struck gold.
For the Super Eagles, Enyeama played a total of 101 games before his unceremonious retirement from International football following a spat with then Super Eagles Head Coach Sunday Oliseh.
Having previously named the Nigerian goalkeeper in the Africa best XI for the decade, IFFHS have gone further to name the 2013 AFCON winner as the continents best between the sticks.
Juventus and Italy legend Gianluigi Buffon tops the chart followed by Real Madrid and Spain great Iker Casillas.
Enyeama’s selection as the best African goalkeeper of all time puts him ahead of other legendary goalkeepers from the continent, including Joseph-Antoine Bell, Thomas N’Kono, and Essam El-Hadary.
