‘We need to be more clinical’ – Boboye

Head Coach of Akwa United FC, Kennedy Boboye says his team must be “clinical” in front of goal to win matches in the Nigeria Professional Football League, NPFL.

Akwa United started the 2020/2021 NPFL season with a 0-0 draw against neighbours Dakkada FC on Monday, December 28, 2020, at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo.

The Promise Keepers had chances to score on home turf but fluffed their lines, recording just a shot on target against Dakkada FC.

Speaking to journalists in the post-match conference, Boboye said his team wanted to win the game but were just “unlucky’.

“It was a game we wanted to win. We put in everything and our ball play was very good and I think we were just unlucky not to have scored in today’s match.

“We hope to work on the areas that we have observed some lapses. We need to be more clinical in front of goal and by the grace of God we will look into those areas before our next game,” the former Plateau United gaffer said.
