Remo Stars skipper Nduka Junior, who will lead the CHAN Eagles in East Africa, remains optimistic about their chances when the competition kicks off on February 1, 2025.

“We are not the favourites; that title belongs to teams like Morocco and the co-hosts Tanzania and Kenya. However, while we respect our opponents, we are not afraid of any of them,” Nduka said, reflecting on the team’s mindset heading into the tournament.

The 25-year-old captain emphasized the unity and talent within the squad, pointing out the opportunity the championship presents for players to shine on an international stage.

“We will give our best, just as we did against Ghana in the playoffs. We are united and have quality players who are ready to represent Nigeria at CHAN. It’s a chance for us to showcase our skills and boost our profiles,” he added.

The tournament draw is set to take place on January 15 in Kenya, where Nigeria will learn their group-stage opponents.

The CHAN Eagles are determined to make a strong impression in East Africa as they go head-to-head with some of the best home-based teams across the continent.
