Nigerian forward Kelechi Iheanacho’s stay at Sevilla FC is under threat just a month after joining the Spanish club on a free transfer.
Iheanacho, 27, has struggled to impress manager Garcia Pimienta, starting only one game and failing to score or assist in 156 minutes of football.
According to Spanish outlet Todo Fichajes, Iheanacho’s early displays have not convinced the club’s board, and he has fallen in Pimienta’s pecking order in attack.

Sevilla may consider loaning out Iheanacho in January if his performance does not improve.
However, finding a club willing to pay his weekly wages of €92,308, as reported by Capology, might be challenging.
Iheanacho’s contract with Sevilla runs until 2026, with an option to extend for another year, and includes a €30 million termination clause, making an exit from the club unlikely.
Iheanacho joined Sevilla alongside fellow Nigerian Chidera Ejuke, replacing Moroccan Youssef En-Nesyri, who moved to Fenerbahçe SK.
Despite his struggles, Iheanacho will be given time to showcase his talent, but improvements are necessary to secure his place in the team.
The 2021 FA Cup winner has previously played for Manchester City and Leicester City, scoring 82 goals in 294 appearances.
Iheanacho’s uncertain future at Sevilla raises questions about his ability to adapt to La Liga and compete with other top strikers.
Only time will tell if Iheanacho can turn his fortunes around and establish himself as a key player for Sevilla.
