Transfer Gist

Why Man United’s Jadon Sancho deal is delayed

Jadon Sancho Borussia Dortmund

Fabrizio Romano has explained the delay in Manchester United’s pursuit of Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho.

The England international is United’s number one transfer target this summer and has been on the radar of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer for a long time.

United appeared to be hesitant to go all out for Sancho who is valued at £108m despite securing Champions League football next season.

The reliable Romano is quoted as confirming that “the clubs are in talks” with Dortmund playing hardballs.

The Red Devils say Dortmund’s £108m valuation of the player is ‘unrealistic’ under the current coronavirus conditions which has affected the transfer market.

Talks over a deal for the England international is at an early stage with the clubs said to be apart in their valuation of the player.

Manchester United remain hopeful of getting a deal done for the exciting winger after terminating Alexis Sanchez’s contract by mutual consent and the Chilean moving permanently to Inter Milan.

Solskjaer refused to comment on Sancho saying “we are looking into all transfers, not going to speak about individuals who are not our players.”
