Yemi Olanrewaju reveals ambitious plans for Enyimba FC

Enyimba FC’s newly appointed Head Coach, Yemi Olanrewaju, has outlined his vision for the club, emphasizing a commitment to excellence and a focus on achieving major goals in both domestic and continental competitions.

Olanrewaju, who was unveiled by the club’s Chairman, Nwankwo Kanu, on a one-year contract with an option for extension, is poised to lead the People’s Elephants of Aba with renewed energy and ambition.

Speaking about his appointment, Olanrewaju acknowledged the weight of responsibility that comes with coaching Enyimba, stating, “As the head coach of Enyimba, I know the pressure and what it means to lead this club. This is not my first year, but my third year at the club. I understand what the fans want and the expectations that come with this role.”

Olanrewaju, who has previously guided other teams, is acutely aware of the high standards expected by Enyimba’s loyal supporters. He noted, “The fans are insatiable. We will do our best to make sure we make everyone happy, even though it’s more like a rebuilding phase. Losing seven important players from last season means the team has to start afresh.”

Despite these challenges, Olanrewaju is confident in the team’s potential. “We have good players and have made some significant signings. We are working on integrating them quickly so they can adapt and contribute effectively. Excuses will not be entertained—results are what matter,” he emphasized.

Regarding Enyimba’s CAF Confederation Cup aspirations, Olanrewaju set clear objectives: “Our first task in continental competitions is to secure a place in the group stages. In the league, anything less than a top position is unacceptable. We are fighting for the top spot and are determined to achieve it.”
