Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen broke another of his personal record on intercontinental derby against Jose Mourinho’s Fenerbahce last Saturday.
The Super Eagles forward registered his first back-to-back assists since September 2019, cementing his status as a key player for his new team.
Osimhen played a pivotal role in Galatasaray’s 3-1 triumph over Fenerbahçe in the highly anticipated Intercontinental Derby on Saturday.
Osimhen’s impressive performance began in the 20th minute when Galatasaray took the lead through an own goal by Dominik Livakovic.

Eight minutes later, he skillfully laid the ball down with his chest in the box, allowing Dries Mertens to tap it past Livakovic for the second goal.
Osimhen alongside former Napoli teammate Dries Mertens started ahead of the top attacking Michy Batshuayi, Hakim Ziyech and Mauro Icardi for a starting birthe at Galatasaray.
Galatasaray maintained their two-goal advantage at halftime despite Fenerbahçe’s attempts to respond. The visitors extended their lead in the 59th minute when Gabriel Sara scored from an assist by Lucas Torreira.
Although Edwin Dzeko reduced the deficit with a penalty in the 63rd minute, Osimhen and his teammates secured the win.
This remarkable display marked Osimhen’s second assist in as many matches since joining Galatasaray on loan from Napoli.
