Atalanta rejects PSG’s €30m offer for Super Eagles Ademola Lookman

As Nigeria gears up for the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Côte d'Ivoire, Ademola Lookman, the Atalanta forward, has expressed his determination to showcase his best performance in his first major tournament appearance for Nigeria.

Atalanta have reportedly officially rejected PSG’s offer of €30 million for Super Eagles Ademola Lookman this summer.

Paris Saint-Germain’s bid to sign Ademola Lookman has encountered a setback, with Atalanta refusing to budge on their valuation of the Nigerian international.

According to reports, PSG tabled a verbal offer of €30 million for the 2024 African Player of the Year frontrunner, but Atalanta swiftly dismissed the bid, considering it significantly below their expectations.

Lookman’s impressive performances in the latter half of the season, including a match-winning hat-trick that secured Atalanta’s UEFA Europa League triumph, have seen his valuation soar to between €50-60 million.

Atalanta are unwilling to let go of their prized asset for anything less, leaving PSG to weigh up whether to meet their demands or look elsewhere to bolster their squad.

The 25-year-old winger has been instrumental in Atalanta’s success, scoring crucial goals and providing assists throughout the season. His electrifying performances have caught the attention of several top European clubs, but Atalanta are determined to hold onto their star player.

PSG’s interest in Lookman is understandable, given his pace, skill, and goal-scoring ability. However, the French giants will need to substantially increase their offer if they hope to secure his services. Atalanta’s stance is clear: they will not sell Lookman for anything less than their asking price.

The situation has left PSG with a dilemma. Do they meet Atalanta’s demands and risk overspending on a player, or do they look elsewhere for a more affordable option? The ball is firmly in PSG’s court, and only time will tell if they are willing to meet Atalanta’s valuation of Lookman.

Meanwhile, Lookman’s future remains uncertain. The Nigerian international has been tipped to become the next African Footballer of the Year, and his performances on the pitch justify the hype.

Wherever he ends up, Lookman is sure to make an impact, and his fans will be eagerly watching his next move.
