The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has appointed Fidelis Ilechukwu and Daniel Ogunmodede as assistants to interim coach Austin Eguavoen.
The appointments were announced in a letter circulated online, with the NFF requesting the release of the two coaches from their respective clubs, Enugu Rangers and Remo Stars.
Ilechukwu, who led Enugu Rangers to a league title last season, brings over ten years of experience in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).

Remo Stars head coach Ogunmodede
He has also served as an assistant coach for the home-based Eagles. Ogunmodede, on the other hand, has managed Remo Stars for 71 league games, recording 31 wins, 14 draws, and 26 defeats. His team has reached three consecutive continental preliminaries under his guidance.
The appointments address the Super Eagles’ coaching challenges, which have been a topic of discussion since Finidi George’s departure in May.
The NFF’s attempts to secure German coach Bruno Labbadia were unsuccessful due to complications related to German tax laws.
Eguavoen, who heads the NFF’s technical committee, has taken on the role of interim coach until a permanent manager is appointed.
The Super Eagles face crucial AFCON qualifiers against Benin Republic and Rwanda, scheduled for September 7 and 10, respectively.
