NNL confirms relegation of 12 clubs, promotion of 4 ahead of 2024/2025 season

The Nigeria National League (NNL) board has confirmed the relegation of 12 clubs to the National League One (NLO) and the promotion of four clubs to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) ahead of the 2024/2025 season.

The relegated clubs include Stormers FC, Ekiti United FC, and 1472 FC from Conference A; FC ONE Rocket, Giant Brillars FC, and Trade Safe FC from Conference B; NAF FC, ABS FC, and EFCC FC from Conference C; and Mailantarki Care FC, Jigawa Golden Stars, and City FC from Conference D.

On the other hand, Nasarawa United, Elkanemi Warriors, Beyond Limits, and Ikorodu City FC gained promotion to the NPFL after finishing top in their respective groups.

The NNL has notified the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) of the final outcome of the 2023/2024 season and has received a list of promoted clubs from the NLO and those demoted from the NPFL. The 12 relegated clubs, four demoted from the NPFL, and eight promoted from the NLO will participate in the 2024/2025 NNL season.

NNL Chairman George Aluo confirmed the promotion and relegation of the clubs, stating that the board has formally notified the NFF. The development sets the stage for an exciting 2024/2025 season, with the promoted clubs eager to make their mark in the NNL and the relegated clubs determined to bounce back to the top tier.
