Nigerian International Olorunleke Ojo has made a surprising switch to Ethiopian Premier League side Wolwalo Adigrat University on a short-term deal.
The 29-year-old goalkeeper, who recently won silver with Nigeria at AFCON 2023, had been without a club since parting ways with Sudan’s Al-Merrikh SC. Now, with his international clearance and work permit secured, he is set to begin a new chapter in Ethiopia.
Wolwalo are currently rock-bottom in the league, with just nine points from 19 matches and 24 goals conceded—the second-highest in the division. However, head coach Tsegaye Kidanemariam believes Ojo’s experience could be a game-changer in their fight for survival.

Speaking after his unveiling, Ojo expressed excitement about the move and vowed to give his all for the struggling club.

Ojo, who won the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) title with Enyimba in 2023, will be hoping to use this move as a stepping stone to revive his career.
